It all started in 1996 at Morseland in Rogers Park when us old geezers saw this (very) young funk band, called Bumpus, and decided we would do everything we could to hitch our wagon to their star! Well, Bumpus’ good name maintains its standing as a serious player in the Midwest touring funk circuit! As for us…well…we still have a name. But it should be a night to remember at the old Elbo Room space, now known as Bookclub – ESPECIALLY as ex-Bumpus bassist and Terrible Spaceship creative genius, Travis Chandler, will be spinning records for a set! I almost forgot to mention that the Matador of the Fluegelhorn, Oscar Ybarra, will be present and on stage, so the gang’s all gonna be there!
AND, it’s an EARLY show (doors at 7pm, show at 7:30pm), so the babysitter won’t cost too much. Wait, what am I talking about? If you’re a fan of ours, your kids are all in college or have real jobs…NO EXCUSES!
So put on your dancing shoes and warm up your voices to yell at us (hollers for Bumpus..and…uh…huzzahs for us, I guess)!
